In the twentieth century, Christianity came to Turabdin with the help of missionaries from Egypt. In the course of two hundred years, the entire Turabdin's thousand-year-old social-religious map was repainted to a politically-controlled, monochrome lifestyle.
Instead of protesting against the new tyrant regime, thousands of Assyrian youth turned their backs on reality and fled to the monastery to make their way to death.
